Transportation
to and from school, in the form of four school busses, is provided
for most students where walking distances are unreasonable.

Quick Facts
- There
are four buses used for our school

- Busing
is available to all families (subject to route plan)
- Bus routes
are set at the end of June
- All parents
must read, sign and return the "Code of Conduct on Buses"
to the school by the end of September of each school year
Routes
- All families
are required to confirm their need for bus service by June 15th
Once established, the routes cannot be changed
- Families
requesting busing after June 15th will be required to fit into
existing routes
- Any changes
to a stop must be requested in writing to the transportation
committee route representative for consideration (communication
by email is preferred)
Your
Bus Stop
- Students
are required to be at the stop five minutes prior to their pick
up time
- Parents
please be there five minutes prior to drop off if you are picking
up your child
- If you
live in the service area, we will attempt to have your bus stop
no more than 1.5 km from your house.
- We do
not offer door to door service.
- All students
(regardless of age) should be met at the bus stop by the responsible
parent or guardian unless the school receives notification by
the parent in writing that this is not necessary.

Fees
- For fee
schedule, please see your admission package
- Families
wishing to commence/terminate bus service during the school
year will be subject to a $50.00 administration charge for each
change and a prorated fee schedule.
Bus
Cancellation
- In the
event of bad weather, a phone chain is in place to contact you
should your buses be canceled. Also check CFRB 1010.
- Parents
are responsible for making their own arrangements when a bus
is canceled
- It must
not be assumed that friends can ride the bus on any occasion.
Requests for such a service must be in writing to the Vice-Principal
Conduct
on the Buses
- It is a
privilege, not a right, to be on the bus
- We will
adhere to the Code of Conduct that each parent must read and
sign before using the buses
- The driver,
bus monitors and peers will monitor conduct carefully

- Exists
to help families at JKCS. We appreciate your input and support
Reports to the Board through a board representative
- Is made
up of 4 route reps (one for each bus), a chairperson, the Vice-Principal
and a board rep
- Students
are expected to follow the Bus Rules & Procedures while
