  • Bus routes are set at the end of June
  • All parents must read, sign and return the "Code of Conduct on Buses" to the school by the end of September of each school year

Routes

  • All families are required to confirm their need for bus service by June 15th Once established, the routes cannot be changed
  • Families requesting busing after June 15th will be required to fit into existing routes
  • Any changes to a stop must be requested in writing to the transportation committee route representative for consideration (communication by email is preferred)

Your Bus Stop

  • Students are required to be at the stop five minutes prior to their pick up time
  • Parents please be there five minutes prior to drop off if you are picking up your child
  • If you live in the service area, we will attempt to have your bus stop no more than 1.5 km from your house.
  • We do not offer door to door service.
  • All students (regardless of age) should be met at the bus stop by the responsible parent or guardian unless the school receives notification by the parent in writing that this is not necessary. Notification Form

Bus Fees

  • For fee schedule, please see your admission package
  • Families wishing to commence/terminate bus service during the school year will be subject to a $50.00 administration charge for each change and a prorated fee schedule.

Bus Cancellation

  • In the event of bad weather, a phone chain is in place to contact you should your buses be canceled. Also check CFRB 1010.
  • Parents are responsible for making their own arrangements when a bus is canceled
  • It must not be assumed that friends can ride the bus on any occasion. Requests for such a service must be in writing to the Vice-Principal

Conduct on the Buses

  • It is a privilege, not a right, to be on the bus
  • We will adhere to the Code of Conduct that each parent must read and sign before using the buses
  • The driver, bus monitors and peers will monitor conduct carefully

Your Transportation Committee...

  • Exists to help families at JKCS. We appreciate your input and support Reports to the Board through a board representative
  • Is made up of 4 route reps (one for each bus), a chairperson, the Vice-Principal and a board rep
  • Students are expected to follow the Bus Rules & Procedures while riding JKCS school busses. For more information on JKCS transportation, see the Frequently Asked Transportation Questions.
