We have had many conversations about fundraising recently. Many people have many different opinions about how to best ensure that our fundraising targets are met. Some people think that covering all costs in the operating budget via tuition is the way to go. Others feel that we should have a portion of our operating costs covered via money coming from a variety of sources. Some enjoy fun little fundraisers, while others are interested in a few larger fundraisers. A vision for fundraising can be a very difficult task.
Given the school's history and the present realities, we feel as though we have landed on a vision for fundraising that feels comfortable for the coming years.
First, we have divided the fundraising goal of $80,000 into three main areas of fundraising. First, we will have an annual drive. Second, we will host a bowl-a-thon for students who will raise funds through pledge sponsorships. Third, we will continue to build on the great golf tournament that we held last June. You will notice that each of these three major fundraising activities will provide an opportunity for a different group of people to demonstrate their financial support for us. All of these funds will be channeled to the operating side of our school which includes the tuition assistance fund.
Once our fundraising goal of $80,000 has been met, we will then channel all of our excess funds to one or all of the following areas: the building fund, mortgage debt reduction, and the endowment fund. Each of these areas will help us develop further as we think about the future needs of the school.
Ultimately, we must cover this vision with prayer. Please join us in praying that the Lord will guide and bless our school as we unfold God's creation for our students. Pray also that the Lord will use individuals far and wide to support us financially so that this school may be a beacon of light.
2011/2012 Fundraising Goal: $80,000
Funds raised as of mid January: $30,252
