Shop & Support involves one very simple process: you purchase retail declining balance “gift” cards through the school, and do your everyday and special-occasion shopping with the cards.
How do we make a profit? The Shop & Support fundraising program allows us to buy the retail cards at a discount (set by the individual retailers—see the order form to check the percentages given back!), and sell the cards back to you at face value. The result? You don’t spend anything extra, and JKCS earns fundraising dollars on your everyday shopping!
How do you purchase your cards? You may purchase retail cards from our on-going inventory—we always try to stock all local, available grocery stores, as well as specialty coffee shops (ie. Starbucks, Tim Horton’s, Timothy’s and Second Cup), Chapters, gas companies (Petro-Canada, Shell and Esso), and select others.
We place and receive orders weekly, and so anything you need can be ordered for you. Order forms are available on-line on the school website, and also in-person from our Shop & Support morning sellers or through the school office.
Orders must be received by Monday morning, to be filled and delivered to the school on Friday morning.
We have our kiosk set up in the lobby each school morning, until approximately 9:30, as well as during special school events.
Do you have to be available to come into the school in person? No! Many of our parents send their weekly orders in through their child, and, with your permission, we will send your completed order back to you the same way.
You may, if you prefer, send orders in via “kiddie courier” and pick up your order in person. If you are unavailable to come in during morning drop-off, you may pick up your completed order with Mrs. Donald in the office at any other time.
What types of cards are available? We have over 200 retailers at our disposal! You can virtually do all of your regular, everyday shopping—and dining—through our fundraising program, plus purchase cards to give as gifts (or, buy your own gifts with those cards!) from stores most popular for gift-giving. How can I pay for my Shop & Support cards? Cards must be paid for at the time of order. We accept debit, cash and cheques (payable to JKCS). Please note that, at this time, debit is only available during times that our selling kiosk is open.
If you send an order form in with your child, please attach a cheque.
We also have in place a post-dated order system; you may give us a series of post-dated cheques and we will fill and send home your orders (or call you for pick-up, based on your instructions). We will not cash your cheque until we process that particular order. This system is excellent for those who want standing, recurring orders without having to remember to get the orders into the school on time! You choose the number of post-dated orders you leave with us: weekly, bi-monthly, monthly.... You may, of course, make up individual order forms for any of these post-dated orders, to accommodate seasonal/special shopping needs.
If you prefer to use your credit card, you may do so when ordering on-line directly through www.shopandsupport.ca. Although we do make a smaller profit due to charges for credit card usage, we still value your support! (When possible, it is obviously to the benefit of the school to use other payment methods.) It is also possible, on-line, to use pre-authorized banking payment methods, just as you would for any bill payment. This preserves 100% of our fundraising profit from your order!

See how easy it is? When you choose to do your shopping through our Shop & Support program, you earn money for our school with every purchase! You won’t have to spend a single extra dollar you wouldn’t ordinarily choose to spend, but will continue to support JKCS all through the year.
AND, of personal benefit to you (besides helping to support our school and all our children, of course!), are the GIFTS Points that you will acquire with your Shop & Support orders!!! For each $300 you spend, you may record 1 GIFTS hour!
